The most simple way to get traffic and a backlink to your website is to be the top commentor of blogs having high PR and alexa ranking.

Majority of the time the top commentor will get a do follow backlink. Imagine how much you had to pay for getting a backlink from high PR blogs but now just by leaving simple comments you can get a free backlink.
