These are the two main reasons for blog commenting.

We usually search only for do-follow blogs for commenting because we are trying to increase our page rank. That’s well and good but what about the “getting traffic” part.

In our aim to find and comment on do follow blogs we are neglecting the aspect of getting traffic. Blog commenting can be the most effective way to get targeted visitors to your blog if done properly.

A blog is having high alexa rank because of the simple fact that people are visiting the blog.

• The second step is to subscribe to the blogs feed via email so that as soon as a post is made you will be notified via email.

Here is the tricky part.

You can get traffic from a blog comment only when it is seen by large number of visitors.

For your comment to be seen by large number of visitors you must be the first person or atleast among the first 5 commenter.

For ex: take shoemoney.com blog. A post there receives around 150 comments and lot of page views. If you are the first person to comment on it guess how many people might see your comment and visit your blog.

If you are the last person to comment then nobody will see your comment. People will read the post and go away; nobody will scroll to the bottom of the post to see your comment.

The key here is to increase the visibility of your comment as much as possible.

Its been ranked according to popularity and alexa. Even if the top blogs are using no follow tag, it’s still advisable to use this mainly for getting traffic.

Don’t expect 1000 visitors but you will get atleast 100-200 visitors from commenting on atleast 15 top blogs. That traffic will be highly targeted.
